About Inertia

Inertia Sound Studio is a state of the art recording facility tailored to accommodate everyone from the first time independent recording artist on a budget to the more established artist that demands a fully produced project by one of our in house producers. We are fully equipped with Avid’s Pro Tools HD3 to handle large sessions and mixes with ease. We are also equipped with high end microphones, outboard gear, and instruments with brand names including Neumann, Vintech, Empirical Labs, Focusrite Red, and the list goes on.

Our facility includes one control room with 2 live rooms. Live room A is a more acoustically dampened room with 11 foot ceilings and wood floors while our live room B has a more live feel for big drums with wood ceilings, floors and walls. The lounge boasts of natural light with 8 foot high glass wall overlooking a patio from the second story where you can kick back on the leather couch to watch netfix, hulu, or a dvd on our 52″ plasma while waiting to track the next song.

We are conveniently located in the heart of central Florida, between Orlando and Tampa International Airports off Interstate 4 in Lakeland, Fl.

Conrad Johnson

Owner/Producer

Conrad is the former member of the CCM pop/rock duo, Chris and Conrad. From 2007-2010, he has toured extensively throughout the US performing in front of thousands and has charted on Billboard. Their first single “Lead Me To The Cross” peaking at #3 on the Hot AC Christian chart and their single “You’re The One” at #26 also on the Billboard Hot AC Christian chart. He has been producing artists on and off the road since 2005 and started building his second commercial recording facility in January 2011 which opened in March of 2011.

When he is not in the studio producing, he is spending time with his high school sweetheart, Emily and their 4 year old daughter, Ellie. At lunch time, you can find him at Chipotle, Palace Pizza, or Jimmy John’s grabbing some food with friends.

Jon Santana

Engineer/Beat Producer

Jon Santana, aka “J Santana Beats” is a beat producer/engineer born and raised on Long Island, New York, now residing in Lakeland, Florida. He started dreaming of musical endeavors while making beats with pens and pencils on the lunchroom table in middle school. At the age of 15 Santana started to use audio software, FL Studio and quickly fell in love with the art of beat-making.

Santana started working at Inertia Sound Studio last year as an intern and is currently wrapping up his Bachelors in Music Business at Southeastern University. He also attended The Contemporary Music Center in Brentwood, TN. His influences range from Ryan Leslie, Will.i.am, to Ratatat.
